If there's one way to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, it's through acts of service. On MLK Day this year, Bowman & Company LLP employees dedicated their time towards a cause that affects many people in our area: food insecurity. By partnering with Cathedral Kitchen, we were able to provide and serve food to hundreds of individuals in the area.

Everyone has a different idea of what the holidays are supposed to look like. We all have traditions and customs that make this time of year special. No matter what holiday you celebrate or who you share your time with, there's a way for everyone to enjoy the holiday season. One thing that we all have in common, however, is the opportunity to share. We share food around the dinner table, presents, stories with our loved ones, our time & service, and anything else we might find value in. Being in a position to give to others is a privilege, and is a rewarding aspect of life that Bowman encourages. That's why this year, Bowman has partnered with multiple organizations to better our community.

Bowman & Company LLP believes that we have responsibilities to our community stakeholders. The education of students in South Jersey, and those entering the accounting profession in general, is of great importance to us. That is why many Bowman employees are actively involved in mentorship programs with local colleges. By helping accounting students succeed in their studies, we seek to continue and encourage the tradition of producing great talent in the region; sharing our knowledge and experience is the only way to usher in an optimistic future for the profession. In late October, four Bowman Employees (and Rowan Alumni) attended a reception hosted by the Rowan University Accounting Mentorship Program. Bowman & Company LLP commends our Partners and staff who choose to involve themselves in the betterment of their respected communities. We congratulate Partner Todd Saler, who has recently been awarded a Citizen Appreciation Award by the Gloucester Township - Pine Hill Rotary Club. This award acknowledges the time & service Mr. Saler has given to the township as a member of the Gloucester Township - Pine Hill Rotary Club, and his name is now commemorated in Gloucester Township Citizen Appreciation Park along with the previous award winners.

Veterans Day gives us the opportunity to truly celebrate those we appreciate while they are still among us. That's an opportunity that we often forget to take in life. Veterans are a living, breathing history of this country and represent the meaning of dedication & service to its fullest extent. Veterans can teach us all a lesson in believing in something larger than ourselves; you always have an opportunity to uphold common values, perform service on another's behalf, and fight for a brighter future. Bowman & Company LLP strongly supports veterans, as well as those that go above and beyond to recognize their service.

Accounting and management consultants Bowman & Company LLP is announcing our expansion into Haddonfield! As of November 1, 2022, Ragone Lacatena Fairchild & Beppel, PC will join Bowman & Company LLP. With this strategic addition, Bowman will be expanding both our commercial services as well as adding a Haddonfield office location. September 15th marks the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage month in the United States. Hispanic culture is deeply ingrained not only in American society as a whole, but in our local community. New Jersey is one of 13 States in the nation with a Hispanic-American population of over 1 million. As the largest ethnic minority group in the US of roughly 62 million people, it's no surprise that Hispanic-American culture is prominent and thriving today. There is a rich history of influential figures that have helped integrate Hispanic culture into American life, both past and present. This month, Bowman & Company LLP encourages you to join us in celebration of Hispanic-American culture & achievement.

The back-to-school  commercials are unavoidable on TV, but what you might NOT be aware of is the NJ State Sales tax holiday on retail sales which include certain back-to-school supplies.

Bowman & Company LLP Partner Todd Saler, recently retired Partner Kirk Applegate, and Partner-Elect Michael Cragin recently attended the 2022 Camden Schools Foundation's scholarship award ceremony. Our three representatives presented a $2,500.00 scholarship award to Eliacim Cardona, who committed to Rowan University. This event celebrated 30 scholarship recipients and marked the 17th year of awards.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, organizations received many different kinds of government assistance. The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), Provider Relief Fund (PRF), Employee Retention Credit (ERC), and COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL), to name a few. These funds were crucial to helping minimize the impact of business interruptions from COVID. Since each type of assistance had its own rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with each can be difficult.
