“I was asked by Harry Stokes, a retired partner of Bowman & Company LLP, to replace him on the local Board of Directors and that reignited my passion for the Red Cross,” said current Bowman and Company LLP Managing Partner, Michael D. Cesaro. “In high school, I served as a student coordinator for blood drives and I thought it appropriate to return to my first volunteer service. Serving the community for three years as the Chairman of the Board was an extreme honor and I look forward to continuing that service in the future.”
In its mission, the American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Over 95% of the organization is made up of volunteers and Bowman and Company LLP counts itself among the group. Bowman team members, past and present, have served as local chapter leaders and volunteers. Michael Cesaro, Evan Palmer and Ken Drewes are among the Bowman team that performed vital service during Super Storm Sandy by volunteering at a local disaster shelter.
On October 27, 2015, Bowman and Company LLP will host its next quarterly blood drive for the American Red Cross Blood Services Division. Through blood drives such as this, the American Red Cross remains the largest single supplier of blood and blood products in the United States. Forty percent of America’s blood supply comes from the nearly 4 million people who donate blood annually through the Red Cross (www.redcross.org). The volunteers at Bowman and Company LLP are proud to be counted among this statistic.
