BIO

Robert S. Marrone has been a Partner of Bowman & Company LLP since July 1, 1993. His area of concentration encompasses audits of municipalities, school districts, libraries, and non-profit organizations. He joined the Firm in 1978. Mr. Marrone is a Certified Public Accountant, a Registered Municipal Accountant, a Chartered Global Management Accountant, a Public School Accountant, and a Certified Municipal Finance Officer. He has a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Drexel University. Mr. Marrone resides in Mount Laurel with his wife.

EXPERIENCE

Mr. Marrone has extensive governmental auditing experience and assists local governmental entities forecasting for budget debt service and tax revenues and also provides accounting related services. Mr. Marrone received a Certificate of Educational Achievement in Governmental Accounting and Auditing from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Marrone currently serves as the Partner-In-Charge of Continuing Professional Education for the Firm.

MEMBERSHIP IN PROFESSIONAL AND CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS

Mr. Marrone is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”), the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Registered Municipal Accountants’ Association of New Jersey. He currently serves on the Education Foundation Executive Committee of the State Society. In recent years, he served as the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants President and has also served as Chairperson of the Society’s Education Foundation Executive Committee. Mr. Marrone has also served the Society as Secretary, as a member of the Board of Trustees, and as the President of the Society’s Scholarship Fund. In addition, Mr. Marrone also served the Society as President of the Southwest Jersey Chapter and Chairman of the Governmental Accounting and Auditing Committee. In June 2010, Mr. Marrone was awarded the Society’s 2009-10 Distinguished Service Award for “Exceeding Expectations and Setting the Standard of Excellence for Others to Follow.” Mr. Marrone has also served a two-year term on the Registered Municipal Accountants’ Association Executive Board. He is a member of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials and has been an adjunct professor at Drexel University. He speaks frequently on accounting-related subjects before local, school, county, and statewide organizations.

In the community, Mr. Marrone serves as a member of the Cathedral Kitchen finance committee and previously served as President and Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Cathedral Kitchen in the City of Camden. Mr. Marrone also has served as Treasurer and board member of the New Jersey State Chapter of the March of Dimes. Mr. Marrone received the Roosevelt Lifetime Achievement Award from the March of Dimes in 2020.
