Michael D. Lacatena joined the Firm in 2022 as a Director in our Commercial Services Department. He is responsible for a wide range of clients including commercial businesses, not-for-profit organizations, individuals, trusts and estates. Michael concentrates a majority of his practice to professional service firms such as law and medical practices, as well as the real estate industry. These businesses are typically developers, brokers, contractors, and residential rental housing entities. Michael earned his undergraduate degree in accounting from Rutgers University and earned his master’s degree in federal taxation from Drexel University. He was certified by the New Jersey board of accountancy in 1997.
EXPERIENCE
Michael has over 40 years of experience as a shareholder for a regional accounting firm. He has managed all levels of client engagements including audits, reviews, compilations of special reports, and consultation on various financial matters such as business valuations, purchase and sale of businesses, buy-sell agreements, estate planning, and gift taxes. His tax experience includes compliance regarding federal, state, and local tax returns for businesses, individuals, trusts, and not for profit entities.
